W E L G A!

Dear Sisters,
Panahon na!
We will launch Welga ng Kababaihan! (Women’s March Against Poverty and Globalization) on April 27, 2005, Wednesday in twenty cities across the country.
The Women’s March is for all of us women who have long wanted to come together on the economic issues that daily beset us. From now until December 2005, let us deepen our understanding of poverty and globalization, develop and promote a women’s economic agenda and gather energies for a Women’s Strike! We will stop work in every area of our lives for a day to highlight how women’s work turns the wheels of globalization but at the cost of our dignity and wellbeing.
Be with us as we launch Welga ng Kababaihan! We will gather in front of the National Housing Authority at 9:00 am and march to protest government’s lack of concern for poor women’s plight brought about by globalization. The Launching program will follow at Malcolm Hall, UP Diliman College of Law from 1:30-5:00 pm.
For more information, please do not hesitate to contact us at welga_ng_kababaihan@yahoo.com, welga.ng.kababaihan@gmail.com, telephone numbers 921-1985 and 924-6399.
Thank you very much!
Sincerely yours,
